If you're interested in participating in any of our live events, please send us an email.

Spine Indie Bookstore & Cafe is a unique consignment bookstore stocked exclusively with indie authors and publishers, a cafe, and a small literary event space designed to foster conversations in a safe environment.

We will host the St. Louis Indie Book Fair in the spring of 2022, a podcast called Lit-Up (coming soon), and various live events, meetings, discussion groups, performances, and lectures.

Our Live-streamed events will be seen on several social media channels and archived on our YouTube channel.

Join our open mic nights, our Moth-inspired spoken word performances, or book our space for meetings, gatherings, and discussions. Meet authors, publishers, poets, and performers who share your passion.

Thursday Night The Moth-inspired Storytelling
Every 2nd & 4th Thursday 6-10pm (for July: the 14 & 28)

open mic 7-9
Hosted by Elena Sampson

Everyone has a story, and we want to hear yours! Spine Indie Bookstore & Café presents The Moth-inspired storytelling night every 2nd and 4th Thursday. Our host Elena Sampson offers an open mic to welcome and encourage the art and craft of storytelling. Come and tell us your true and first-person story in monologue. Inspire, engage, educate, make us laugh, cry, think, all in a safe, nonjudgmental space. Your story can be a one-off or you can workshop and develop it between 9pm-10pm the evening of the event for possible audition and inclusion to the acclaimed live, radio, and podcast series presented by The Moth, or for the nationally recognized LTYM (Listen to Your Mother), or for Spine’s very own live performance of a Spine Storytelling Night to be developed. Children are welcome.
